Ray Kroc

McDonald's Owner-Sold the world on the concept of fast food
-Father worked at western union and mother taught piano lessons
-Father took Ray to read his future at age four
-Lost interest in school, and thought of ideas to make money
-Joined red cross ambulance core
-Quit school for good in 1919
-In 1939 he say value in a multi-mixer which made 5 milkshake mixer
-He distributed multi-mixers and made 25,000 a year
-Met dick and mack McDonald who bought many multi-mixers
-Brothers had a movie theatre, then a hot dog stand, then a restaurant called McDonald's
-Closed drive in and opened a faster restaurant
-In 1952 the hamburger stand made the cover of a magazine and people came from all over the country
-Limited menu but great products. Do less but do it excellent
-Ray heard of McDonald's at 52
-Made money renting real estate
-Left his wife to pursue another women but he was turned down
-His first love was McDonald's
-Opened hamburger university, which was a training center
-Ray wanted to buy the brothers out, they wanted a million dollars each plus enough cash to pay the taxes
-Kroc opened a store a block away from the brothers last store and ran them out of business
-Came up with many new products, like breakfast sandwich's and fish burgers
-Utilized TV ads to promote business
-Married the piano player finally
-Bought the San Diego padres
-Died of heart failure at the age of 81
-Left behind a fortune of 500,000 million dollars
-Joan inherited the team and his fortune
-1 of every 8 Americans has worked for MC D's
-Joan donated 80 million dollars to salvation army
